Super Easy Fruit Smoothie Recipe

Meal prepping can be overwhelming, especially if you are just getting started. Aside from prepping your actual food for the day, you need to also make sure that you get enough nutrients in your diet. This includes fruits and veggies!


When I was little, and even until this day, I love going to my grandma's house because she always has fresh fruit. She brings me a bowl of fruit, already cleaned and cut, and for some reason it tastes so much better than any fruit I ever make myself! If I could have my grandma make my lunch every day, getting my daily dose of fruits and veggies would be easy. Unfortunately, life is not THAT easy! But I found a way to make it as simple as possible.


I love drinking smoothies because they're easy to make and convenient. You can also just sip on it throughout the day to prevent you from unhealthy snacking. Eating frequently throughout the day also keeps your metabolism firing and burning more calories!


For my easy smoothie, I use strawberries, blueberries, banana, flaxseeds and almond milk. I like using frozen fruits because you can buy them in bulk and store them in the freezer until you're ready to blend. However, you can add, or change any of the ingredients to satisfy your cravings!


Some health benefits include:


Strawberries - an excellent source of Vitamin C, good for your heart, and helps to maintain healthy skin.


Blueberries - high in antioxidants, helps mental health and memory, and helps reverse signs of aging.


Bananas - Improves digestion, high source of potassium, and helps to reduce inflammation.


Flax Seeds - Great source of Omega-3, healthy hormone balance, anti-inflammatory.



Super Easy Smoothie Recipe


Makes 4 servings

INGREDIENTS

2 cups frozen strawberries

1 cup frozen blueberries

2 bananas

2 tbsp flax seeds

2 cups almond milk


DIRECTIONS

  1. Add all ingredients to the blender.

  2. Blend until smooth.

  3. Divide and enjoy!
